Audrey’s family decided to have her ceremony at her home in Bethersden, surrounded by family and close friends. On the day I arrived in my simple hearse, an Audi A6 estate, with Audrey in her coffin and the family carried her coffin into her front room where we set up my bamboo trestles, ready for the whole family to decorate her coffin with photos, flowers and written messages – and lots of little stickers from the grandchildren! We had a lovely ceremony followed by a toast, then we carried Audrey out to the car before I departed for the crematorium, with the family waiving Anne off. Perfect!
