Our eco funerals and ceremonies are more natural, sustainable, green-minded and eco-friendly ways of saying goodbye.
Eco Ceremonies
While a cremation must take place at a crematorium, the ceremony itself can be held at any special or beautiful venue, either indoors or outside.
Some of our families choose ceremonies in gardens at home, in fields and on farms, in rural barns, on harbour walls, at sea, in lighthouses, at airfields, at country hotels, in a village hall etc.
Bio-degradable coffins
You can choose coffins and ashes containers made from natural, sustainable, bio-degradable materials such as cardboard, willow, woven grasses, woven banana-leaf and bamboo, made in World Fair Trade Organisation accredited workshops.
Toby will care for your loved one with minimal impact on the environment. Simple Kent Funerals don't use the artificial elements traditionally associated with funerals such as embalming, lacquered veneer MDF coffins, big funeral hearses or limousines.
Eco-friendly flower farms
We support local flower farms whose flowers are "grown not flown", sustainable, pesticide-free and have a low carbon footprint.
Natural & private burials
Toby can organise natural burials in unspoilt landscapes rather than conventional cemeteries, including natural and woodland burial grounds where graves are hand-dug. You can even choose for a burial to take place on your own property.
Offset all carbon emissions
There is also the option to choose to offset the carbon emissions of a cremation, so your loved one's cremation is entirely carbon-neutral.
