PLANNING AHEAD FOR YOUR FUNERAL
If you're thinking ahead and want your loved ones to know what you'd like when the time comes, we can help.
Following an initial chat with us either on the phone or face-to-face, there are two options for you to consider:
Option 1 - pay in advance:
If you’d prefer to pay for your funerals in advance, we’ll discuss with you what you want and put together an accurate estimate of the cost, along with confirmation of all the agreed details. The next step is to complete a funeral plan trust form for Open Prepaid Funerals, which we can help you with, and then pay into their trust fund. You'll receive confirmation in writing from the trust and you should keep this document with your will. When the time comes, your family/executors contact the trust and/or us, and the money will be used to pay for your funeral.
There is an administration fee of £195, payable to the trust. We receive no payment or commission from the trust for organising this with you, 100% of your payment goes to the trust.
Option 2 - don't pay in advance:
We’ll discuss with you what you want and put together an accurate estimate of the cost, along with confirmation of all the agreed details. It’s then your choice of either:
putting some money aside in a bank or building society account for example, and making a note to put with your will along with the estimate and agreed details, to inform your family/executors of this arrangement: or
simply putting the estimate and agreed details with your will, so when the time comes your family/executors know what you want.
